At Dental Savers, we offer a wide range of effective dental solutions for every type of problem. One of these is a process called dental bonding, which is an effective and affordable way to improve the appearance of your teeth. When you visit our clinic in Mayfair, Philadelphia for dental bonding, you will have better looking teeth so that you can smile with greater confidence.
What is Dental Bonding?
Dental bonding is a service we provide to our patients who need to improve the appearance of their teeth. We use composite resin that has the same shade as your teeth, and we mold this resin to your teeth so that it will look more natural.
We can use this resin to cover severe stains on your teeth that even teeth whitening procedures can’t correct. It can also be applied to correct any damage to a tooth, such as a fracture or a chip. When your gums have receded to expose some parts of the root of your tooth, we can use the resin to cover it up.
In some cases, we can use bonding as an alternative to fillings, so that we can cover up cavities with material that looks more natural. And if you have a tooth that’s shorter than the rest of your teeth, we can apply bonding material so that the tooth to match the length of your other teeth.
What to Expect
When you visit our clinic, we will first check the condition of your teeth, so that we can take note of all the damage on each tooth. We will then determine how bonding can help improve it.
The dentist will then chose the precise color for the composite resin that closely matches the color of the tooth and the rest of your teeth. We will then prepare the surface of the teeth where the resin will be applied. The dentist will etch the surface of the tooth, and then use a specially-formulated liquid to coat the tooth so that the composite resin securely adheres to the surface.
Once that’s done, we will apply the resin. We take care to ensure that the resin is molded carefully and properly so that it takes the right shape. When we achieve the proper form, we use laser or UV light to harden the resin so that it stays in that shape.
We then make our final adjustments for the resin. We polish it meticulously, so the sheen of the bonding will match the rest of the tooth. Then no one will be able to tell that any extra material has been added to your teeth. You can now smile with confidence, knowing that people can longer see any imperfections in your teeth.
